Twiline Breeding Philosophy

Dedicated to Preserving Siamese

Twiline Cattery is dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of the Siamese cat. It is important to us that the original Siamese point colors of seal point, blue point, chocolate point, and lilac point, continue to be recognized as a separate and distinct breed. Two other breeds that derive from Siamese, the Colorpoint Shorthair and the Oriental Shorthair, should never be classified as Siamese. These breeds were developed by outcrossing Siamese to American Shorthair and are their own separate and distinct hybrid breeds. The Cat Fanciers Association, Inc. recognizes only as Siamese the point colors listed above. These colors occured naturally as spontaneous mutations without human manipulation.

Mission

Our mission is to be a resource in Michigan and the Detroit area for fine quality Siamese cats. To educate the public about Siamese cats and responsible pet ownership. We also enjoy mentoring and helping others get started with Siamese breeding if this is what they choose to pursue. We are always open to questions and hope to help as much as we can.

Health and Longevity

The health of the cats we breed is the number one priority for the cattery. For what is great beauty without good health? The cats we sell will become part of other's families. Our breeding program conscietiously outcrosses to preserve the hybrid vigor of our kittens and add years to the lives of our cats. Our kittens will receive their first shots, be de-wormed , and be tested for FeLV/FIV before they go to new homes. The stock we breed from has no known lethal genes that would cause death or serious health problems to it's offspring . The kitten you purchase from us will be litterbox trained and spoiled rotten the day you take it home! We sell our kittens with it's CFA litter registration (you send for individual reg.), it's pedigree, and a baby portrait for you to keep.

Price

Pet kittens (not for breeding) are $375.00. Breeder and Show quality kittens (kittens sold for breeding purposes) are $600.00 -female, $800.00- male. Twiline Siamese reserves the right to adjust these prices at any time. We also reserve the right to refuse to sell a kitten to anyone for any reason. All kittens are sold with kitten sale contracts outlining specific terms of sale.

In order for your kitten to grow, thrive, and live a long and happy life, we suggest the following:

1) Feed your kitten a premium, natural, holistic cat food. Food should be high protein and low carb.We feed InnovaEvo, Wysong, and Wellness brand foods. Please visit their websites at Naturapet.com (Innova Evo) and Wysong.net(Wysong).Wellness brand for kittens and Cats, and last but certainly not least, Royal Canin brand comes in formulas from Baby Cat to Kitten to Adult formulas. They even have a specific formula just for Siamese. If you live in the Detroit area you can purchase these foods at Premier Pet Supply, 31215 Southfield Rd., Beverly Hills MI,(248) 647-4310. For other important pet food and health information , please visit animaltalknaturally.com and ShowCatsOnLine.com .

2) Cats benefit from fresh air and sunshine but do not allow your cat to roam the streets. If you wish to allow your cat outside, provide an enclosure that the cat cannot escape from. You might also provide a harness and extra long tie out cord if your area is not entirely escape proof. You must not allow your cat to roam freely outside throughout your neighborhood. Numerous hazards await a freely roaming cat!

3) Vaccinate your cat according to your veterinarian's recommendations. Most cats benefit from yearly vaccinations. This is especially important for multicat households.

4) The FeLV/FIV viruses are fatal to cats. The kitten you purchase from Twiline Siamese will be tested for FeLV/FIV (negative status) If you intend to acquire additional cats you must test these cats before bringing them into your home. This will insure the health of all your cats and freedom from these infectious viruses.

5) Do not DECLAW your cat. If your cat ever gets loose outside, he will lack his natural defenses. It is also thought that declawing stimulates aggressive behavior in cats. Twiline Siamese WILL NOT SELL to anyone who intends to declaw their pet. The Cat Fanciers Association, Inc. does not advocate declawing cats and does not allow declawed cats to participate in CFA shows.

6) Groom your cat regularly. Grooming allows you to inspect your cat for fleas and ticks or other organisms that don't belong on your cat. Grooming allows you to check it's ears, between the toes etc. Many health issues can be detected early simply by the inspection that goes on during regular grooming.

7) Interact with your cat daily. Be aware of it's emotional responses and what is normal for your cat. A change in temperament and/or habits can be the first sign of a health problem. Watch your cats grooming behavior. Cats tend to groom less or stop grooming themselves entirely when they are ill.

Most of all treat your cat as you wish to be treated. Cats are mammals and have feelings, emotions, likes and dislikes just like people. They appreciate your love and attention and in return will give you their undying love, gratitude and devotion.
